The Hammonton Community Endowment Fund has announced the recipients of its

second annual Community Grant Program, awarding a total of $8,000 to four local

nonprofit organizations. Each organization received a $2,000 grant to support projects

that strengthen the Hammonton community and align with Hammonton’s core values.

This year’s grant recipients and projects are:

Historical Society of Hammonton: The Historical Society will create an interactive

community history initiative that invites students of all ages to explore Hammonton’s

past through hands-on art, storytelling and discovery. As Eileen Unger said, "One of the

historical society's strategic planning goals this year is to have the community be more involved in our programming. Art brings people together. This project is going to create an awareness of the rich history that we have here in Hammonton.

Hammonton Hawks: Grant funds will support the Hawks’ flag football program by

providing chairs and tables for use beginning with the 2027 season. Clark Hovermale,

Hawks President, received the award on behalf of the Hawks organization. Hovermale

said “Anything we can give back to the kids, to make things better for playing and

watching the flag football program, we’re focused on doing.”

Hammonton Little League: The grant will help fund the installation of a permanent

sound system at the girls’ softball field, enhancing the experience for players, families

and spectators. Amy Heggan said “With the sound system in place, we will be able to

utilize the softball field more, holding district tournaments and community events.”

Hammonton Revitalization Corporation (MainStreet Hammonton): MainStreet

Hammonton will use the grant to complete the modernization of Downtown

Hammonton’s public audio and communication system, known as Downtown Sounds.

According to Ty Wilson, who accepted the award, the decade old sound system has

been repaired and maintained over time, but “This grant funding will allow us to get the

sound system up to 100% or even 110%, to make sure we have the best possible

experience when folks come here, bringing them a wonderful feeling when visiting

downtown Hammonton.”

Next Grant Application Window is Spring 2027
